APB Foundation Scholarship for Persons with Disabilities
The APB Foundation strongly believes that a good education allows our youths to lead financially independent lives and to contribute actively to society. Through the APB Foundation Scholarship for Persons with Disabilities, we aim to build an inclusive society and help youths with disabilities fulfill their aspirations.
Originally introduced in 2004 and open only to students who are physically disabled, the Scholarship has since been extended in 2008 to include tertiary students with hearing, speech and visual impairment.
Currently, SPD is the Foundation’s partner and administrator of the Scholarship. Our partners also include the Singapore Association for the Deaf and Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped.
Each year, the APB Foundation awards three students with scholarships of $12,000 annually for the duration of their course of study (full-time) up to a maximum of four years.
The Scholarship is eligible only to undergraduate admission to the following local Universities:
- National University of Singapore
- Nanyang Technological University
- Singapore Management University
- Singapore Institute of Technology
- Singapore University of Design & Technology
- Singapore University of Social Sciences
To date, we have enabled 55 scholars majoring in areas such as Accountancy, Arts & Social Sciences, Business, Civil Engineering, Information Systems Management, Material Science & Engineering. For more information on the scholarship, visit the SPD website.
